Input Sought On Progress Village Improvement Plan In East Tampa

Monday's meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at Emanuel P. Johnson Recreation Center, 5855 S. 78th St., Tampa.

PROGRESS VILLAGE, FL —Hillsborough County is asking residents for input on an ambitious plan to improve Progress Village Park. Residents can give their opinion at a public meeting on Monday, Oct. 2, or online from Oct. 2-16.

Monday’s meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at Emanuel P. Johnson Recreation Center, 5855 S. 78th St., Tampa. Parks & Recreation officials will be available to answer questions, and residents can see visual representations of what the improvements will look like.

Residents can also register their opinions through the county’s engagement and education hub from Oct. 2-16.

The Progress Village Park master plan calls for a new playground and fitness zone, both with synthetic turf, four pickleball courts, a dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs, a fitness trail, new shelters, and an expanded parking lot.

Work has already begun on some parts of the $2.4 million project, with completion expected in 2025.
