This Week's Lee Roy Selmon Expressway Closures
Lane closures for the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway through the end of September 2012 have been announced by the Florida Department of Transportation. The closures are part of the ongoing connector project with Interstate 4.

The Florida Department of Transportation has announced road and lane closures for motorists traveling on or near the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway. The closures are necessary in the work to advance the Interstate 4 and Selmon Expressway connector project. Also, for the Selmon Expressway deck panel replacement and widening work.

- One lane might be closed on eastbound and westbound I-4 between Exit 1 (22nd Street) and Exit 3 (50th Street) on Sept. 21-29 (Friday through Saturday) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Two lanes might be closed on eastbound I-4 after 10 p.m.; up to three lanes from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
- One lane might be closed in each direction of the Selmon Expressway between Exit 9 (22nd Street) and Exit 11 (50th Street) on Sept. 21-29 (Friday through Saturday), from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., and on Sept. 22-30 (Saturday through Sunday), from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- All lanes in both directions on State Road 60 (Adamo Drive) between 22nd and 34th streets will be closed Sept. 25-28 (Tuesday through Friday) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour to 4th Avenue, using 22nd and 34th streets to and from State Road 60.
- One lane might be closed in each direction of State Road 60 between 26th and 39th streets through Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Fourth Avenue between 28th and 32nd streets might be reduced to one lane through Sunday, Sept. 30, with traffic flagged through, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All lanes between 27th and 32nd streets will be closed from 8 p.m. Sept. 25 (Tuesday) through 5 a.m. Sept. 26. DETOUR: Use State Road 60 for the east-west route and 21st/22nd and 34th streets for the north-south connections.
- Seventh Avenue in each direction between 26th and 32nd streets might be reduced to one lane through Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- One lane in each direction might be closed on 20th, 21st and 22nd streets from Grant Street to State Road 60 on Sept. 21-29 (Friday through Saturday), from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m., and Sept. 22-30 (Saturday through Sunday), from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Traffic might be flagged on 26th Street between 12th and 15th avenues (under I-4) through Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- One lane might be closed in each direction of 34th Street from State Road 60 to Grace Street (under the Selmon Expressway) through Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Traffic Alerts for the Selmon Expressway Deck Panel Replacement and Widening Project:
- One lane in each direction will be closed on the Selmon Expressway between Florida Avenue (Exit 6) and Twiggs Street (Exit 8) on Sept. 23-28 (Sunday through Friday). Westbound closures are from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.; eastbound closures are from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- The right lane of eastbound State Road 60 (Adamo Drive) between 17th ad 19th streets might be closed through Sept. 28, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The following closures are scheduled for roadways under the Selmon Expressway. Signs will be posted for detours using local roads.
Channelside Drive in each direction from 12th Street to south of State Road 618 (Selmon Expressway) Sept. 28-29, 7 p.m. to 3 p.m. Washington Street from East Street to Nebraska Avenue Through Sept. 28, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Brorein Street between Jefferson and Morgan streets Through Sept. 25, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Jefferson Street between Whiting and Brorein streets Sept. 25-27, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Kennedy Boulevard between Nebraska Avenue and Governor Street Sept. 26-27, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Brush Street between Jackson Street and Kennedy Boulevard Sept. 26-27, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Source: Florida Department of Transportation, Division 7
