Man Found Dead Outside Home Identified

TAMPA, FL — The Tuesday morning discovery of a man’s body outside a home on Trammell Trail has sparked a homicide investigation.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the 8200 block of Trammell Trail after the man’s body was found. The agency is releasing few details in the case, but has said its investigation is classified as a homicide.

“At this time, the incident does not appear random,” the agency wrote in a Tuesday morning email to media.

Deputies released the name of the victim Tuesday afternoon. According to the sheriff's office, Aqkil David Brooks' death remains under investigation with no possible suspect or suspects announced.
