Motorcyclist, 30, Killed In U.S. 301 Crash
A 30-year-old Wimauma man was killed in a Thursday night motorcycle crash on U.S. 301.

WIMAUMA, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a Thursday night crash that resulted in the death of a 30-year-old Wimauma man.
According to the patrol, James F. Flood, 69, of Wimauma was heading south on U.S. 301 around 10:18 p.m. July 27 in an Acura. Flood was attempting to make a left turn onto Valencia Grande Avenue when his vehicle went into the path of a motorcycle that was heading northbound on U.S. 301, a highway patrol report said.

The Acura and Alfonso Rodriguez’s Harley-Davidson collided, the report said. Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Flood and his passenger were not injured in the crash, troopers noted.

Charges are pending the outcome of the patrol’s investigation. No further information is being released at this time.
