Plane Deployed Parachute Before Crashing: Hillsborough Fire Rescue

The plane's two occupants were walking around the Brandon crash site when firefighters arrived, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue said.

BRANDON, FL — A small plane deployed a parachute before crashing Thursday afternoon in Brandon, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue wrote in a Facebook post.

The plane crashed near the intersection of Parsons Avenue and Empire Drive.

Multiple calls were made to 911 about the upside-down plane that landed about a yard off Parsons Avenue, HCFR said.

When firefighters arrived, they found both occupants of the plane walking around, the agency said. There were no hazards caused by the plane in the area.

The plane's two occupants were brought in stable condition to a local trauma center.
