Ruskin Man Hit, Killed By Truck On U.S. 301: Troopers

WIMAUMA, FL — A 31-year-old Ruskin man was killed over the weekend when a pickup truck hit and killed him on U.S. Highway 301, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man walked onto the northbound lanes of U.S. 301 near Brody Boulevard just after midnight Sunday. No street lights were in the area where he tried to cross the street, investigators said. A 71-year-old Riverview man could not see his body and crashed into him, according to authorities.

He was pronounced dead at the location, troopers said.
