Search On For Hit-And-Run Driver

A Sunday morning crash on U.S. 41 left two people injured and sparked a search for a hit-and-run driver.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is asking for help identifying a motorist involved in a hit-and-run crash on U.S. 41 near Palm River Road Sunday morning.

According to troopers, a white passenger car was heading south on U.S. 41 in the outside lane around 10:40 a.m. April 9. That vehicle was attempting to overtake two vehicles ahead of it that were slowing for traffic, a report said.

The driver of the white car failed to slow or stop and struck the rear of a Toyota Tundra driven by Richard James Crain, 54, of Tampa, the patrol said. Crain’s Tundra was propelled into the back of a Chrysler Pacific driven by Selena Oglesby, 40, of Riverview.
