Soul Circus Cowboys To Play Tribute Song, 'Sunshine State' July 4th

BRANDON, FL — Soul Circus Cowboys, a southern rock band led by Brandon native Billy McKnight, is set to release the single "Sunshine State," a tribute to their native Florida, from the new album, "Rolling Across America."

In a recent news release, McKnight said they wanted to write about Florida and how much fun it is to live here.

"The lifestyle and the 'Sunshine State' came to mind," McKnight said.

Lyrics from the song include, "There's a summer moon all year round, sunrise, sunset, blue skies as blue as it gets. Margarita laid back soaking up rays, just another day in the Sunshine State."

Soul Circus was formed in 2009 and includes band members Billy McKnight, Dewey Buxton, Ron Zebron, James Caulk, and Steven O'Reilly.

The exclusive video premiere of "Sunshine State" can be watched on the band's YouTube Channel on July 4.

The band will also celebrate the 4th of July with a live performance of the new single at Toasted Monkey.

If you can't make it to Toasted Monkey on Monday, July 4, to see the performance, Soul Circus Cowboys will perform on Channel 10 WTSP's Great Day Live on June 30 at 9 a.m.

The band starts playing at 2 p.m. at the Toasted Monkey on July 4. This is an all-ages show.
