Tractor Fire Spreads To 5 Acres In Ruskin: Fire Rescue

Fifteen Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews worked with assistance from the sheriff's office to control a tree farm fire.

RUSKIN, FL — More than five acres of land in Ruskin had brush fires and tree burns Wednesday that possibly started with a tractor fire at a tree farm, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue said.

A tractor in a tree field, 1998 19th Ave. N.E., Ruskin, is shown in a HCFR Facebook video burning at about 2 p.m. The flames from the tractor spread to nearby brush and trees. The fire had spread to more than five acres as crews worked to contain the fire, according to the fire crew.

HCFR has not released the approximate amount of land the fire burned.

It took the 15 HCFR crews about two hours to contain the fire with assistance from Hillsborough County Sheriff's units and Florida Forrest Service.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue has not said if there were any injuries.
