Video: Reasons To Go to the 2013 Florida State Fair

The 2013 Florida State Fair this year celebrates its 500th anniversary, opening its gates to the public Feb. 7-18 at the Florida State Fairgrounds at 4800 U.S. Highway 301 North.

At the January luncheon meeting of the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce, Betty Jo Tompkins recited a poem that gives loads of reasons why the Florida State Fair is "the best darn entertainment you'll find anywhere around."

Tompkins is president of the Florida 4-H Foundation and a member of the Florida 4-H Hall of Fame. She is a long-time member of the boards of directors for the Florida State Fair and the Hillsborough County Fair.
