The Westfield Brandon Family Fun Day in August highlights a look back at what kids did over the summer break as they step forward to a new school year.

School's (almost) in and the theme for families in August at the Westfield Brandon shopping mall is to showcase what children did over their summer vacations as they get set for a new year of school memories.
Each month mall officials host a Family Fun Day. This month's theme is, "End-of-Summer Fun."

Scheduled for Aug. 16 at 4 p.m., in the kids department at Sears, is a reading of two books by Kevin Henkes, the lighthearted Chrysanthemum, and Jessica, a sotry about an imaginary friend. Kids will personalize pencil cases, receive a Westfield No. 2 percent and enjoy a snack.
The first 70 kids will receive, for free, a $10 Sears gift card. Their parents will receive a store discount.

Kids with their parents will venture through the mall for the "End-of-Summer Scavenger Hunt," which affords a chance to win special prizes.
If they stop by the Dell kiosk they can enter to win a special edition computer. According to mall officials, "the Inspiron 15R is recommended for Back-to-School with a 15” laptop that has been decked out with a backlit keyboard, 2GB graphics card, 1080p display, and Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and Premier Elements 9."
