Carrollwood Teacher Accused Of Having Sex With Student

CARROLLWOOD, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a teacher at Carrollwood Day School for sexual misconduct.

Jaime Melton, 42, an English teacher at Carrollwood Day School at 1515 W. Bearss Ave., is accused of having sex with a student in September.

According to the sheriff's report, detectives developed probable cause and arrested Melton on charges of sexual battery.

"This woman was a trusted member of this community who was responsible for the education and well-being of students. Instead, she violated that trust," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "As a parent, I am disgusted and hope she faces the full consequences of her actions."
