Citrus Park Man Accused Of Sexual Assault Remains Jailed

CITRUS PARK, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office looking for additional victims of a man charged with sexual battery.

On June 18 at 12:40 a.m., a woman was approached and sexually assaulted by a man as she was walking near the intersection of Cedar Creek Boulevard and Lemon Tree Court in the Citrus Park area, according to the Hillsborough sheriff.

The investigation led detectives to 36-year-old Michael Farina, of White Cottage Drive in Citrus Park, who has a history of violence toward women, according to the Hillsborough sheriff.

A few days later, on June 22, 2022, detectives served an arrest warrant and took Farina into custody.

In 2018, Farina was arrested for the robbery and assault of a minor girl in a parking lot.

"There is no place for dangerous individuals who prey and sexually attack others in our community," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "We will continue to seek justice while reaching out to help the victims of Michael Farina."

Farina is being held at the Orient Road Jail on $100,000 bail.
