CARROLLWOOD, FL — An injured owl is expected to make a full recovery after being rescued by a Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputy.
Deputy Deena Kertesz responded to a call about an injured owl near Sheldon Road and Crown Boulevard.
When she arrived, she found the owl helpless, lying on the ground under a tree, and discovered that one of its wings had been injured.

She gently wrapped the owl in a sheet and took it to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital to be treated. The owl is now recovering at a local owl rescue shelter.
