Intersection Improvements Planned At Bearss, North Florida Avenues
A virtual public engagement on the project will be available from Thursday, Oct. 27, to Wednesday, Nov. 9 for residents to provide feedback.

CARROLLWOOD, FL β The intersection of Bearss Avenue and North Florida Avenue in the Lake Magdalene area is the next area to benefit from Hillsborough Countyβs Intersection Improvement Program. The purpose of this project is to increase capacity and improve the safety of the intersection.
Improvements include adding an eastbound right-turn lane and converting the existing shared through-right lane to a dedicated eastbound through lane. Traffic signal modifications will be completed as part of the project.

- Construction of an added eastbound right-turn lane on Bearss Avenue at North Florida Avenue
- New 6-foot-wide sidewalk along the additional right-turn lane to enhance walkability
- Drainage and pedestrian improvements
There is potential land acquisition to accommodate the proposed improvements. Design and land acquisition are anticipated to be completed in late 2023. Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2024 with construction ending in early 2025.

The county will conduct a virtual engagement using the Hillsborough Engagement Hub to inform the public of the intersection improvement project. Visit HCFLGov.net/HCEngage to participate beginning Thursday, Oct. 27.
