HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is asking for the public's help to find a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a man Sunday morning on Hillsborough Avenue.

Troopers said the driver was heading east on Hillsborough Avenue east of Benjamin Road just before 6 a.m. when the vehicle struck a man who was walking across the road.

The pedestrian was killed, and the driver fled the scene. Troopers say they found parts of a vehicle at the crash indicating the car was a 2009 to 2012 Hyundai Sonata.
