The nomination form can be submitted online or printed and sent to the Hillsborough County Communications Department, 601 E. Kennedy Boulevard, first floor, Tampa, 33602.

Nominations must be received no later than close of business on Feb. 25. They will be reviewed by the Commission on the Status of Women.

The YEA! Awards were created last year. Commissioner Kevin Beckner requested the idea. The awards honor Hillsborough County students who have shown an initiative to themselves and others while pursuing excellence in leadership.

That includes areas such as performing arts, academics or community service.

The awards will be presented for the first time by the Board of County Commissioners in April during a regular meeting.
