Woman, 61, Killed In Waters Avenue Hit-And-Run
Deputies say they are looking for a silver Toyota pickup in connection with a Carrollwood area woman's Tuesday hit-and-run death.
TAMPA, FL — As the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a Tuesday hit-and-run that left a 61-year-old Carrollwood area woman dead, deputies have released more details. Authorities say they are looking for a Toyota pickup truck in connection with the crash.
Sherry Lynn Hunter was crossing West Water Avenue around 10:38 p.m. July 18, near Wilsky Boulevard, when she was struck and killed, an email from the sheriff’s office said. The vehicle that hit Hunter was heading westbound on Waters Avenue. Hunter, who was not in a crosswalk, died at the scene authorities reported.
On Wednesday afternoon, deputies released information about the suspect vehicle. They believe it is a 2005-2011 Toyota Tacoma pickup that is silver in color. The truck suffered front-end damage in the crash along with damage to its grill and headlight, deputies say.
