Aldi Sets Hiring Events Across Tampa Bay Area

CLEARWATER, FL — Tampa Bay area job hunters hoping to start careers in the grocery industry may want to jot some dates down on their calendars. Aldi has announced an upcoming series of hiring events meant to place people in open positions at stores in five counties across the region.

The grocery chain, which is known for offering competitive wages and benefits, is looking for people to fill positions at stores in Clearwater, Bradenton, Brandon, Holiday, Largo, Pinellas Park, St. Petersburg and Winter Haven.

The following hiring events have been announced:

• Aug. 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Aldi, 2900 34th St. S., St. Petersburg
• Aug. 18 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 2580 Gulf to Bay Blvd., Clearwater. Note: This event is only for prospective store associates.
• Aug. 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Chain O' Lakes Complex, 210 Cypress Gardens Blvd., Winter Haven. South entrance, meeting room 2.
• Aug. 24 from 6 a.m. to noon – Aldo, 1945 W. Lumsden Road, Brandon
• Aug. 27 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Hyatt Place Sarasota, 6021 Exchange Way, Lakewood Ranch
• Aug. 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Chain O' Lakes Complex, 210 Cypress Gardens Blvd., Winter Haven. South entrance, meeting room 2.

Applicants must be at least 18 years or older to apply. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, but not required. Applicants must be available to work anytime between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. Mondays through Sundays. Retail experience is preferred. Employees must also be able to lift 45 pounds and be able to pass a drug screening and background check.

Aldi employees who average more than 25 hours a week are eligible for full health insurance benefits and dental coverage. The company also offers a 401 (k) program. Open positions pay as follows:

• Store associate - $12 an hour
• Shift manager - $16.50 an hour
• Manager trainee - $49,920 a year with an opportunity to earn $80,000 to $90,000 per year as a store manager.
