Keep up with what's going on in Clearwater Aug. 6.

Business As Usual on Clearwater Beach
Yes, Clearwater Beach businesses are still open as crews work on the Mandalay Stormwater Outfall Project. While crews have much of East Shore and Poinsettia Avenue closed for construction, businesses are still open normal business hours, according to the Clearwater Beach Chamber of Commerce. The $1.6 million project is expected to reduce flooding and debris from going out to sea.
Cheap Gas
Looks like prices might be dipping a bit. Fill up for $3.41 for a gallon of regular gas at Dodge Store, 1194 NE Cleveland St., according to tampagasprices.com.
Airpark Guidance Group Meets
The volunteer group that gives guidance to Clearwater Airpark development and use meets at 3 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 112 S. Osceola Ave. Members of the Airpark Advisory Board will get an update on airpark projects and procedures as well as talk about potential grant projects for next year.
POWERBALL FEVER
Got your Powerball tickets? The payoff is up to $400 million for Wednesday night's drawing! Granted, it's not as big as June's record $590 million prize, but you could probably still live comfortably, right? Find Clearwater stores selling tickets on the Florida Lottery website.
HOW ABOUT THOSE RAYS?
Entering Monday's off day, the Tampa Bay Rays were 66-45 and just a game behind the reviled Boston Red Sox for first place in the American League East. The Rays return to action with a road trip that opens at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
YOU MIGHT GET WET
It's looking like it could be a wet Tuesday in Clearwater, with a 40 percent chance of scattered showers in the afternoon, thunderstorms and gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service. As always this time of year, you'll want to have your umbrella with you just in case.
