Ex-Office Manager Stole $30K From Clearwater Dental Practice: Report

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — A Palm Harbor woman faces charges following accusations she stole thousands of dollars from her former employer, WFLA-TV reported.
Belinda Dawn Colovin, 54, of Palm Harbor was charged with scheme to defraud, Pinellas County jail records showed.
She was booked into the detention center Sunday and released the same day on a $10,000 surety bond.

For more than a year, Colovin worked as an office manager for a dental practice in Clearwater, according to WFLA-TV.
While employed, she offered discounts to dozens of patients who paid for services in $8,000 cash, even though she was not authorized to do so.

Authorities said Colovin would then document only a portion of that total in the practice management software.
Ultimately, an audit revealed that nearly $30,000 was missing during Colovin’s time at the practice, the TV station reported.
