Pinellas County Residents May Notice Water Taste, Odor Difference In April

Pinellas County Utilities announced earlier this week that its water customers may notice a slight difference in the taste and/or odor of their water during a temporary change in water treatment between Monday, April 3 and Monday, April 24. According to the utility department, this first of two short-term changes from chloramine to chlorine disinfection in 2017 is a routine maintenance measure designed to optimize water quality.

Taste of Carrollwood Highlights Flavor Of Northwest Hillsborough County

Each community around the Tampa Bay area has its own flavor, and the Carrollwood area is no different. And much like many communities, Carrollwood will bring out its best during the fourth annual Taste of Carrollwood, which will take place Sunday, April 1 from noon to 5 p.m. at Steinbrenner Field, 1 Steinbrenner Drive in Tampa.

2017 Dunedin Highland Games & Festival: What To Know Before You Go

Grab your kilt and your caber — if you’re strong enough, that is. The 51st annual Dunedin Highland Games and festival fills an entire day with everything Scottish, from traditional Highland games to music to a 5K run, with participants dressed in kilts. The date as well as parking and locations have been announced.

Men Posing As Cops Fired Shots Into Valrico Homes

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has released surveillance photos of a vehicle that may have been involved with two early Friday morning shootings reported in the Valrico area. The first shooting was reported around 3:30 a.m. on March 24 when, according to the sheriff’s office, two men knocked on a door in the 1100 block of Mallory Point Drive.

'Major Milestone' For Florida Panthers Reached

A recent discovery of two Florida panther kittens and their mother in an area north of the Caloosahatchee River might be cause for celebration; according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, this sighting is the first one documented north of the river since 1973. The deputy director for the FWC’s Division of Habitat and Species Conservation, Kipp Frohlich, called it "good news for Florida panther conservation."
