Kayak Recovered After Man Falls Out, Swims To Shore: Clearwater PD
After searching for the kayaker, Clearwater police said they learned he actually safely swam to shore.

CLEARWATER, FL — After locating an abandoned, partially submerged kayak one mile west of Clearwater Pass, police said the man who was in it is safe.
A few days ago, police said FWC officers found a bait buck and a set of Mercedes keys inside the kayak, prompting a search for the kayaker.
After locating the owner of the kayak, police said they learned the kayaker was never actually missing.

"His son had taken the kayak out, fell out and swam back to shore. Everyone is safe and accounted for. Thanks for all the shares and support," the police department posted to Facebook.
It's not clear what caused the man to fall out of the kayak in the first place.
