Motorcyclist Injured In Clearwater Crash: FL Highway Patrol

CLEARWATER, FL — A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a Tuesday afternoon crash on State Road 580, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.

A 95-year-old Clearwater woman driving a Honda Accord was heading east on SR-580, east of Summerdale Drive, and stopped in the center turn lane around 12:30 p.m.

At the same time, a 40-year-old woman driving a Harley Davidson was traveling west on the same road, FHP said.

As the motorcycle approached the intersection, the car turned left into its path and was hit by the motorcyclist, the agency said.

The motorcyclist was brought to an area hospital with serious injuries.
