Motorcyclist Killed In Pinellas County Crash: FHP

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — A 21-year-old motorcyclist from Hudson died following a crash with another vehicle Wednesday night in Pinellas County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on US-19 approaching Pine Ridge Way West at a high rate of speed. A 22-year-old man from New Port Richey was traveling in a car northbound on US-19 ahead of the biker.

At some point, troopers said the motorcyclist overtook and collided with the rear of the other driver's car.

The motorcyclist was rushed to an area hospital; however, he later died from injuries suffered during the crash. He was wearing a helmet, troopers said.

The driver of the car suffered only minor injuries.
