Murder Charge Filed Against Woman In Fatal Shooting Of Boyfriend: Pinellas County Sheriff
A woman was charged with murder weeks after the fatal shooting of her boyfriend at their Clearwater home, the Pinellas County sheriff said.
CLEARWATER, FL — A woman was arrested about a month after the Aug. 19 fatal shooting of her boyfriend at a home in their unincorporated Clearwater home, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Amanda Tenney, 38, was arrested the day of the shooting and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and shooting into a dwelling.
Detectives added the charge of murder in the first-degree for Tenney on Sept. 16.

Deputies responded to the couple’s home on Illinois Road around 1:15 a.m. after a 911 caller said they heard a loud noise and a woman say, “I have a gun,” the sheriff’s office said.
When they arrived, deputies found Tenney, whose legs were covered in blood. They also saw bloody footprints inside the home.

They found the victim, 60-year-old Patrick Denney, dead on a bedroom floor with a gunshot wound to the head, the sheriff’s office said.
Investigators learned that Tenney and Denney were in a relationship. They were the only ones inside the home at the time of the shooting.
Detectives also learned that Tenny tried to clean up the crime scene and didn’t call 911, the sheriff’s office said.
