Comcast Awards $10K Grants to 5 Local Small Businesses

Five out of the 100 small, minority-owned businesses who received a $10,000 grant from Comcast, via their Comcast RISE Investment Fund, from South Florida are right here in our own area! With four winners from Coral Gables and one from Coconut Grove, these local businesses are now able to grow beyond their wildest dreams.

Coral Gables

• Cobreiro Law, a law firm located at 2100 Ponce de Leon Blvd
• Avenues of Excellence Finishing School, etiquette training located at 1 Alhambra Plaza
• The Magus Films, content producers at 1805 Ponce de Leon Blvd
• VE Legal, a law firm located at 2525 Ponce de Leon Blvd

Coconut Grove

• Teltra, wired and wireless security systems available at 3109 Grand Avenue

Comcast created this initiative in 2020 to help strengthen and empower women and minority-owned small businesses hit by COVID-19 after studies concluded that Black, Hispanic, and Asian American-owned small businesses were hit the hardest by the pandemic, and that women-owned businesses have been growing at only half the rate of those run by men due to their lack of access to capital and other resources.
