The exhibit will be on display until Aug. 16.

August 5, 2020

On exhibition until August 16, the Coral Gables Museum is celebrating the 90th Anniversary of Miami Lighthouse for the Blind, an organization that provides hope, confidence, and independence to more than 75,000 blind and visually impaired persons annually. The exhibit includes two major projects that gather works in different mediums: β€œSeeing without Sight” and β€œFashion.” Under the instruction of artist Aaron Hill, the β€œSeeing without Sight” exhibit collaborates with students that participate in the Lighthouse’s Visual Arts program. Five large canvases with colorful and tactile collages are the result of the students’ collective effort of ceramic sculptures and fiber art pieces. The second project, β€œFashion,” was curated by instructor and artist Jose Gonzalez Martinez and gathers the work of four artists in the program with pieces that celebrate the human body and its beauty.
