CORAL GABLES, FL—In a remarkable showcase of youthful talent and determination, Coral Gables' own Neil Kaan Kagitci, a standout student-athlete at Ponce de Leon Middle School, captured the coveted Nick Johnson Inspiration Award at the USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Championships held March 14-16, 2025, in Northern California.

At just 15 years old, Kagitci was not only the youngest athlete among the Southeast Zone cadets competing at the championships, but also emerged from thousands of athletes nationwide to earn recognition that celebrates exceptional character, leadership, and athletic integrity.
