Meet Author Paula Delgado-Kling at Books & Books on January 28th

Author Paula Delgado-Kling will be speaking about her nonfiction book, Leonor: The Story of a Lost Childhood on Sunday, January 28th at 4:00pm ET.

The author was forced to flee her homeland of Colombia due to a kidnapping threat. Later, when she was researching more about her native country, she met Leonor, a former child soldier. The author followed Leonor for 19 years, from shortly after she was an active FARC member forced into sexual slavery by a commander thirty-four years her senior, through her rehabilitation and struggle with alcohol and drug addiction, to more recent days, as the mom of two girls. The book is a truly fascinating account of life in Colombia and the struggles of war victims, especially women and children.
