Our cause: Bátor Tábor is a member of Paul Newman’s Serious Fun Children’s Network receiving campers from the hospitals of Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Romania. Bátor Tábor Foundation organizes free therapeutic recreation camps for Central European children living with cancer, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis or other chronic diseases. hey realized that no such camp is available for Central European children to go there heal, forget their illness and be what they really are: children. Over the past 15 years, more than 8,000 children and their families have participated in the camp free of charge. All of the money from your generous donations will go to the camp directly. Since 2003, this Charity Event continues to be the principal funding event for Bator Tabor and has become one of the premier networking events in Hungary attracting business leaders from Central Europe.

When we began this event in 2003 we raised 27,000 euros, last year (2016) we raised 230,000 euros. As you can see, each year our goal is to continue to grow. This growth leads to better facilities for the camps, installation of new activities and programs, the expansion of our camps name, and most importantly the growing number of campers and their families we can incorporate. Our overall goal is to establish a community, a community these children can lean on, depend on, and grow up with. We are fortunate enough to continue to add campers every year, and that is thanks to you.

We invite you to participate in Bátor Tábor’s very first international crowd funding campaign to help us heal the soul of 140 children affected by childhood cancer!

Every year we set the goal to welcome nearly 1000 campers in our 15 sessions. Two of our sessions are always international for Czech, Slovakian and Polish campers. Every year we need to raise 100% of our income through the kind support of public: individual donors, companies, friends who believe in what we do.

We ask you to help us change lives, because this is what we do.

Let us share one camp story with you which best describes why we do this:

A teenager boy lost his leg due to his illness came to camp, where he climbed the high-ropes course, even though at first he did not really want to. When he got back to the ground he said to his fellow camper: “After this nothing will hold me back. Not even the fact that I have only one leg.”
