1) National Weather Service forecast: We've got a 40-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Otherwise it'll be partly sunny with a high near 91. Tonight's low is 75, with continued chance for showers and thunderstorms.

3) Two city government reminders: 

• City commission meets tonight at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. One of the topics being discussed is the future of the  (the parcel of vacant land across from Mease Dunedin Hospital).
• The Dunedin Community Center hosts the first of two this Saturday. This event is great for anyone with questions about the that unrolls this October. The is on Aug. 28.

4) Today is the day for those of you who've been waiting patiently for Tarpon Springs, Safety Harbor and East Lake to get a Patch. Editors in all three of those communities are launching sites today! If you have friends in any of those communities, be sure to let them know.
