Artist Seals the Skip's Dogedin Wall

The Dogedin mural outside is officially finished.

Artist Anna Hamilton sealed the mural and then, celebrated the Dunedin Doggie Rescue way — with an all-dogs invited fundraiser-party — on Dec. 18.

Hamilton began the Dogedin mural project as a fundraiser for Dunedin Doggie Rescue, a local pet rescue, about two years ago. She painted more than 400 pet portraits outside the wall at Skip's before it spread to walls elsewhere in the city.

She started her own about a year ago with Dawn S. Carney, and now Hamilton's pet portraits are with collaborative projects such as Pinellas Paws Cause, among others.

On Dec. 18, Hamilton celebrated the closing of the Dogedin wall at a . Some of the original dogs Hamilton painted on the Dogedin wall, including Petey and Burrito, attended the party.

Proceeds from raffle tickets and other doantions went to Murals for Mutts and Dunedin Doggie Rescue.

Hamilton is still open for pet portraits through Murals for Mutts. Pet portraits are also still available for a portable Dogedin extension wall at the , a dog-friendly beer bar.
