Cabana Cafe Up for Sale

The owners of the Douglas Avenue restaurant are shifting their focus to the Old Feed Store property on Railroad Avenue.

Longtime downtown business owners announced late Monday that they are putting their Douglas Avenue cafe up for sale.

Tina Marie and Javier Avila announced in an e-mail newsletter that they are selling to pursue a recently purchased property at the site of the Old Feed Store, 735 Railroad Ave. The couple purchased the Douglas Avenue property in 1998.

The Avilas started their first Main Street business — the now popular — in . They are known for their , youth and community and also own , a brick-oven pizza restaurant and wine bar that adjoins Casa Tina.

The café serves a simple menu of soup, salads and Panini, and an array of beverages and baked goods. It also contains an eclectic gift shop.

The Avilas plan to break ground on their new $350,000 commercial property in 2012.
