Dunedin High's Performance Improving, State Says

Dunedin High School maintained its B grade from the previous year and improved 7 or more points across all categories, based on a Florida Department of Education school accountability report (2010-11) released Wednesday.Â

Here's how Dunedin High improved:
- Dunedin's graduation rate went up.Â
- The number of students participating in accelerated classes (i.e., IP, AP and AICE) increased, and those students performed better than the previous year.
- Students also received (on average) higher SAT, ACT and FCAT scores, which contributed to the marked improvement in Dunedin's math and reading readiness category.Â
Dunedin's improved scores match the state trend. Grades are improved at high schools across Florida, according to Department of Education statistics. The percentage of high schools earning an A or B increased to 78, up from 71 percent in 2009-10.
