Clark Hunt Construction crews are installing a better stormwater drainage system along a one-block portion of San Christopher Drive beginning Jan. 16. Officials say it is to relieve chronic flooding.
The $1.2 million project begins at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and moves east until it ends at Spalding Road, city officials said. A stormwater treatment unit will also go in the Pinellas Trail-side parking lot at the corner of Alamo Lane and San Christopher Drive (across from the Coca-Cola plant).

Letters are going out to all affected residents with details about the process for road closures, detours, emergency vehicles and trash collection.
“We apologize for the inconvenience this project will cause,” Doug Hutchens, public works director, writes. “However, this work is necessary to address longstanding drainage problems in your area.”
