4) Merchants will soon be allowed to use flutter flags, car wraps and table top umbrellas to advertise their businesses as temporary relief in tough economic times. Commissioners passed an ordinance Thursday that eases restrictions during times when the county's unemployment rate is 8 percent or higher.
5) Your city taxes (millage rate) will go down, but the stormwater rate goes up by $1.40 this coming year. Commissioners said this is so that funds can be better allocated to maintaining stormwater pipes.
