Five Ways to Make Your Voice Matter

Don't sit there, do something — all from the comfort of your computer chair.

1) Let all of Tampa Bay know about the greatest people and places in Dunedin in Creative Loafing’s Best of the Bay survey. The more people who know, the better it is for Dunedin's small businesses. Survey ends Aug. 31 at 4 a.m.

2) Cox Radio inexplicably canceled Point 101.5 (WPOI FM) on July 1. Miss it? You are not alone. Dunedin resident Lisa Hunt put together an online petition and Facebook page (with nearly 600 "likes") in hopes that, with enough signatures, Cox Radio will bring it back. "It's ridiculous how they changed it and now we have zero '80s stations locally," Hunt wrote in an email to Dunedin Patch.

3) Have you taken the city brand survey? This is your chance to help Dunedin craft its (i.e., how it will market itself to tourists in an effort to secure its economic future as a destination city). If you live here, do business here or just plain like to visit often, then your voice will help a lot. Hurry. You have until Sept. 1. It's only 28 questions and takes about 15 minutes.

4) Does your organization need volunteers? Want to show your gratitude to someone? Just married? Newly baptized? Announce it to your neighbors in the Dunedin Patch! Your big announcements are shared with Dunedin every morning in the email newsletter.

5) Join the Dunedin residents Chef John Lewis, Mathew Eberius and Bailey Riley and be a Local Voice on Dunedin Patch! Our community bloggers add some spice to your Patch. They write about food, hobbies, politics and other things that also matter to you. If you have an opinion, a hobby or an area of expertise and live in Dunedin, we'd love for you to be one of our Voices. Here are blogging. Email kathryn.dolac@patch.com.
