What's Going On Downtown This Weekend

This March 24 and 25, there's something for everyone in the family. Enjoy a visit from astronaut Nicole Stott, a new book by artist Bill Renc, classic cars, antiques, seafood and more culinary delights.

Dunedin's downtown is host to a bevy of weekend events. Here's a look at what's in store:

Saturday

(March 24)

 (8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.). Area collectors show off their classics along Broadway; contact Bill Coleman at wjcoleman@aol.com for car space availability; free to attend.

Antiques Fair (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.). More than 40 antiques dealers will set up along Main Street with merchandise for sale; free to attend.

Sunday

(March 25)

Space and Aviation Day (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.). NASA astronaut and Pinellas County native Nicole Stott gives a lecture in front of the  at 11:10 a.m.; she will sign autographs until 1 p.m.; model airplane demonstrations and other events go until 3 p.m.; free to attend.

Seafood Fest (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.). Dunedin's  celebrates its first year with a family-friendly seafood fest/anniversary party at ; Full Fledged Unit performs 1 to 3 p.m., Black Honkeys perform at 4 to 6 p.m.; food and beverage sales benefit local charities; bring blankets and chairs; free to attend. Taste of Dunedin (noon to 4 p.m.). Downtown merchants host more than 20 area restaurants for a tasting tour of Dunedin; $10 includes for five tastes, map of participating merchants and entry into a raffle to win gift certificates and prizes from participating merchants and restaurants (must be present to win, drawing is at Pioneer Park); purchase tickets on the day of the event at the  and . Email TheBoxcarDunedin@gmail.com for more info.

Bill Renc Book Signing (1 to 4 p.m.). Florida artist Bill Renc signs his  "Painting the Town and Beaches," depicting 128 pages of his colorful painted scenes of Dunedin; ; Book is available for $45.
