A bench bearing an engraved metal plaque now sits alongside the Pinellas Trail near where an Odessa couple was killed riding a tandem bike.
ODESSA, FL — A bench bearing an engraved metal plaque now sits alongside the Pinellas Trail just north of Keystone Road where a couple riding a tandem bicycle was struck and killed by a man accused of driving drunk.
The bench, dedicated in memory of Peter Yore and Janine Dorsey of Odessa, is a gift from Jim and Anne Yore and their family in remembrance of the couple who loved traversing the trail on their bright yellow Cannondale tandem bike they called the Pineapple Express.
They were killed May 11 around 5:50 p.m. when they were struck by a Chrysler PT Cruiser while they were crossing the intersection of the Pinellas Trail and Keystone Road.
