East Lake Boys Soccer End Season in Regional Play
The season came to a nail-biting end last week for the Eagles as they let in a last second goal.

Just before the end of a second overtime and short of what would have been a game-deciding round of penalty kicks, East Lake High's boys soccer team was defeated in the 5A region final against Winter Garden West Orange, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
The Eagles were down 1-0 until the final moments of regulation when the West Orange Warriors keeper was beat, which brought the game to a 1-1 tie.
In the first of two overtime periods, the Eagles held the Warriors to a balanced battle. But in the second overtime, West Orange's Greg McDoom found an open piece of net to clinch the victory over East Lake, the Times reports.

East Lake coach, Alex Stenson credited the loss to multiple missed opportunities by the Eagles offense, according to the Times:
"“I wouldn’t be surprised if they went on to win it. But I thought we matched up well with them. It’s just the little things we do or don’t do that make the difference. We just didn’t finish when we should have.”
The East Lake Eagles ended their season with an impressive 15-4-4 record.
