Estate Homes and Medical Clinic Proposed for East Lake Road Parcel

Have you seen the new signs on that large piece of land just south of Crescent Oaks subdivision? A developer hopes to build a small subdivision and medical clinic on the property.

A developer is seeking a zoning change for a 22-acre plot of land on East Lake Road that is one of a few remaining parcels in the area still zoned Agricultural Estate Residential.

The developer wants to build a small subdivision called Foxwood Estates consisting of nine homes that would be built on two-acre-lots.  The developer is also seeking a variance to allow the construction of a 5,000 sq. ft. medical center or daycare, which would double the square footage currently allowed. The facility would occupy a 2.19 acre lot that fronts East Lake Road.

The land is located about 574 ft. south of the Crescent Oaks subdivision in the unincorporated area of Tarpon Springs, according to Pinellas Local Planning Agency (LPA) documents. Crews installed large signs on the property last week that advertise the estate lots and outparcel.

The proposal includes changing the zoning to Residential Planned Development, which is the same type of zoning in much of the surrounding area.

BGV Limited is the potential purchaser of the property, according to LLP documents. The property is owned by Anne Bishop and has a just market value of $1,084,886, according to the Pinellas County Property Appraiser records.

The LPA has recommended that Pinellas County Commissioners approve the zoning amendment and the variance. Commissioners will hold a public hearing about the proposal on March 19.
