Love My Neighborhood: East Lake Woodlands

Once you drive past the guard gate at East Lake Woodlands, you feel like you've left Florida and are driving in a forest in the Carolinas. 

Moss hangs from the many trees in this large development that stretches from East Lake Road east to Oldsmar, where another entrance is located on Tampa Road, across the street from the AMC Woodlands Square theatre.

East Lake Woodlands features a wide variety of housing options with many subdivisions. You can find single family homes, villas and condos in East Lake Woodlands. According to the development's website, there are nine condo associations, 22 single-family home associations and 14 villa/other associations for a total of 1,033 condos, 1,332 single family homes and 1,019 villas/other types of homes.

East Lake Woodlands also boasts a country club that has a golf course, tennis courts, three swimming pools, fitness facilities and dining. Membership at East Lake Woodlands Country Club is optional for residents.

East Lake Woodlands residents take advantage of the many paved pathways throughout the development, which are perfect for jogging, bicycling and walking. 

Resident Karen Streitman likes to walk her son, Mason, 2, along the pathways in East Lake Woodlands. Streitman and her husband bought their three-bedroom home in the Pinnacle subdivision a little more than two years ago. 

"We got a really good deal on a starter home," she said.

"We heard really good things about the neighborhood. It's very quiet and safe."
