'Postcard Lady' Makes Plea to Community: 'Help Someone Else, If Not Me'

After her story about selling homemade postcards in an attempt to save her home was published, Anne Cobb of Tarpon Springs says she hasn't received much in the way of donations, but still has hope for what she calls a miracle.

Anne Cobb, also known as the 'Postcard Lady,' is a chronic migraine patient, who is on the verge of losing her home in Tarpon Springs. As a final effort to keep the house from going into foreclosure, Cobb creates postcards and sells them at local events and businesses.

Cobb's story drew support from a number of members in the community. A massage therapist offered free services to Cobb to help with her migraines. Another reader offered holistic advice.

But a recent comment on the story from Cobb revealed that the PayPal account she created had not received as much as $1.

Cobb wrote that she never asks folks for more than a $1 donation but instead hopes that a ripple effect will occur and readers will pass her story along to their neighbors or friends.

Even though Cobb said that it would take selling about 60,000 postcards at $1 a pop to stabilize her situation, a recent email from Cobb to Tarpon Springs Patch revealed, "I still have hope in my miracle."

The bulk of the message was dedicated to the idea of paying it forward, if not for Cobb then for someone else who needs it:

"If one person does it and passes it on, then it grows. I am praying to get through.  I can then pass the blessing on to someone, like me, who just needs peace of mind...try to be that 'patch' to make things better...I hope everyone this holiday season, will take a moment to help someone else, if not me!  Pick someone because this is the season of giving.  I wish everyone a very safe and happy holiday."

Cobb also attached her mailing address and the link to her PayPal account, which are listed below.

In the final lines of her email, Cobb added, "even though life don't always work out the way you want it to, you never give up."
