Reader Spotlight: Resident Speaks Out About 1980 Murder
Although the convicted killer has been sentenced to death in April of this year, one local wants to know why it took 'so long.'

On Friday, March 1, Florida Gov. Rick Scott signed a death warrant ordering Elisa Nelson convicted killer Larry Eugene Mann, 59, be excuted by lethal injection on Wednesday, April 10 at 6 p.m.
The ten-year-old was found bludgeoned to death in 1980 and investigators eventually arrested and charged Mann in the case.
Although the sentence is set to be carried out in a little over a month, one local resident commented her concerns.

Diana Smith wrote,
"Why does it take so long to put a guilty man to death in this brutal attack on a child? We have to pay every day he remains in prison."
