The Boys and Girls Club of the Suncoast is teaming up with a local Staple store to help collect school supplies for kids in need.
Through Sept. 28, 2013 the public can donate $1 more at the Staples store located at 41334 North Hwy. 19 near East Lake in Tarpon Springs. The proceeds will go to buy school supplies for needy students.
The school supply drive is a part of a larger effort by the Boys and Girls Club of America and Staples stores nationwide. To kick-start the "Staples for Students" campaign, the company donated $125,000 worth of school supplies to the Boys and Girls Club program.  Since 2008, the campaign has raised nearly $3 million for students in need throughout the country, according to a press release from the Boys and Girls Club.
If you've got supplies to give, the Boys and Girls Club of the Suncoast is accepting those donations at local Michael's stores, according to their website. There will be a bin at each store in Pinellas County. Supplies collected will be distributed to kids in Pinellas County.
