5 Things to Know in Gulfport: Debby's Gone, Volunteer Cleanup, City Workshop

While the city and residents are cleaning up after Tropical Storm Debby, the City Council Workshop is still on for today at 3:30 p.m. at Gulfport City Hall. That and much more in "5 Things to Know Today in Gulfport."

Debby is Outta Here!: She's gone but not forgotten, especially while residents, like Jane Ogilvie, and city crews, with Parks & Rec, continue to clean up the mess Debby left behind.

Help Cleanup Downtown: Want to help cleanup Gulfport's beachfront in time for the 4th of July? Sandy Duffy, (Super) Volunteer Coordinator, is asking everyone to come out on Saturday, June 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. ready to "help beautify Beach Blvd." by cleaning out flower beds, sweeping streets, sidewalks, pavers and more. If you plan on stopping by rsvp by Friday afternoon. Email Sandy Duffy at sdfree2b@yahoo.com.

Clam Bayou Cleanup: According to a post on Gulfport Patch's Facebook page there will be a community service cleanup event at Clam Bayou on Friday, June 29 starting at 8 a.m. You're asked to bring gloves and trash bags. We're working to gather contact information for vounteers.
