Relay for Life: The annual Gulfport Relay for Life all night fundraiser is on Saturday, April 14 at the Gulfport Recreation Center. There's still time to get involved! So far, there are 16 teams and 85 participants. Check out the Relay for Life Gulfport website to join a team or donate now. What should you expect? Join the Toastmasters: Have you heard about the new Toastmasters Club in Gulfport? The group just joined and they want to see new faces at their upcoming meetings. Come out any or every Wednesday from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at The Gulfport Meeting Center, 5021 Tangerine Ave in Gulfport. City Hall Open for Business: For the past several weeks, city meetings have been held in different buildings while construction in City Hall has been underway. Starting at Thursday's City Council Workshop, the meetings will be back in Gulfport City Hall at 2401 53rd St. S.

Vice Mayor Vote Tabled: Councilmember Jennifer Salmon nominated Councilmember Barbara Banno for the Vice Mayor position, but with two yes votes and two no votes, a decision was not met during Tuesday night's City Council Meeting. Mayor Mike Yakes was absent and Councilmember Sam Henderson filled in as acting Vice Mayor. Sam Henderson and Dan Liedtke voted no to the nomination while Barbara Banno and Jennifer Salmon voted yes. The vote was tabled until the next council meeting. If you missed the meeting, you can view it online once City officials have uploaded it to the City of Gulfport website.
