5 Things to Know Today

1) Come out and hear more from Ward Two City Council Candidates Barbara Banno and Avrio Taylor at the Meet the Candidates event at Gulfport City Hall. The forum begins at 7 p.m. tonight.

2) Volunteers are needed to help paint the Gulfport Neighborhood Center on 49th St. S. People are asked to come out on Saturday Feb. 5th at 8 a.m. Organizers with the Gulfport Crime Awareness and So49 are expecting between 12 and 15 volunteers. 3) The Island Community Theatre presents Play It Again, Sam at Catherine Hickman Theater tonight. Performances begin tonight with shows at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Sunday's show is at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. There's a special deal on Thursdays, 2 for $20.
