5 Things to Know Today

2) The Gulfport Police Department has received two recent reports of Criminal Mischief at the Little League complex at Tomlinson Park. Anyone with information is asked to contact the department at 727-893-1030.

3) Join the Gulfport Police Department in welcoming two new officers to the department. Officer Bob Bang and David Cavanah joined the force on Feb. 1, 2011. We'll introduce you to both officers in future stories.

4) Sounds like the sun will be out today. According to the National Weather Service it'll be mostly sunny with a high near 65 and an east northeast wind around 10 mph becoming south southwest. Tonight, we have a 20% chance of showers. It'll be mostly cloudy with a low around 58. Expect a west southwest wind between 5 and 9 mph.

5) Anytime Pizza is hosting a "Family and Friends" event Thursday at their new location at 2930 Beach Blvd. S. The location was previously known as "Dominic's Pizzeria". The downtown Gulfport restaurant will be the company's third business in South Pinellas County. Stop by and meet the owners tomorrow from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Officials will also hold a "soft opening" this Fri, Sat and Sun from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. Owners will hold an official Grand Opening Feb. 18, 19 and 20.
